Get your UDID without a computer

You do not need a Mac, Windows PC, iTunes, Finder, Xcode, or a USB cable. Open this page in Safari on the iPhone or iPad you want to identify, tap Get my UDID, approve the temporary CertDrop profile in Settings, and return to Safari for the result.

If you already have access to Finder or iTunes, you can still use the manual methods in the complete UDID guide. The CertDrop profile method is simply the fastest option when you are already on the device.

What an iPhone UDID is

A UDID is the device identifier used when an iPhone or iPad is registered for development and ad hoc app installation. It is different from the serial number, IMEI, phone number, ECID, and Apple Account. CertDrop needs the UDID of the exact device where you intend to install signed apps.

The temporary profile allows iOS to return the device UDID, product information, and iOS version to this page. It does not install an app or give CertDrop control over the device. After the result appears, copy it carefully or use the order button so the value is transferred without retyping it.

Why accuracy matters

A provisioning profile contains a list of permitted devices. If one character is missing, added, or copied from the wrong device, that profile will not authorize installation on the intended iPhone or iPad. Each additional device therefore needs its own correct UDID registration.

Can I get my iPhone UDID without a computer?

Yes. Open CertDrop Get UDID in Safari on the iPhone or iPad itself. iOS can return the identifier through the temporary profile flow, so you do not need a Mac, PC, iTunes, Finder, or USB cable.

Can a website read my UDID directly?

No. Normal Safari JavaScript cannot read an iPhone UDID. The temporary configuration profile is what allows iOS to send the requested device attributes after you approve it in Settings.

Is the CertDrop UDID tool free?

Yes. Getting and copying your UDID is free. Buying a CertDrop certificate afterward is optional.

Why does a certificate need the correct UDID?

The provisioning profile must authorize the exact iPhone or iPad where you want to install signed apps. A UDID from a different device will not authorize the new device.
