Apple Developer certificate for iPhone 18 Pro & iPhone 18 Pro Max
If you upgraded to a new iPhone, the certificate package from your previous device does not automatically move with you. The new iPhone has a different UDID, and the old mobileprovision profile does not include that new device.
Use the UDID from the new iPhone when you order. CertDrop prepares a new device-matched certificate package for that UDID.
New iPhone = new UDID
The provisioning profile in your old certificate package was prepared for the UDID you submitted for your previous iPhone. An iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max has its own UDID, so the old profile does not register the new device.
What CertDrop prepares for the new device
- A 360-day Apple Developer certificate package for the new iPhone UDID
- The .p12 certificate, matching mobileprovision profile, and password
- A private install page after payment
- Signed Feather and ESign install options on the install page
- One-time price: $8
What to do after upgrading
- Open the CertDrop UDID tool on the new iPhone and capture its UDID.
- Start a new $8 certificate order using that new-device UDID.
- Use the certificate files from the new device-matched package, or the prepared Feather / ESign options from the new install page.
- Do not rely on the mobileprovision profile from the previous iPhone for the new device.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my old certificate package on the new iPhone?
No. The provisioning profile is prepared for the submitted device UDID. A different iPhone requires a certificate package prepared for that device.
Why does my old mobileprovision file fail on the new phone?
The old profile contains the registration for the previous device. It does not automatically gain the new iPhone UDID.
Can I use ESign or Feather on the new iPhone?
Yes. CertDrop's device-matched package includes the files used by compatible signing workflows, and the private install page includes signed Feather and ESign options.
