KSign certificate download: what you actually need
KSign is the IPA signing app. A KSign-compatible certificate is a separate set of Apple signing files. CertDrop sells those signing files for the device you register. It does not sell the KSign app or an unlimited public certificate download.
After your CertDrop order is ready, use the private link in the delivery email to download the .p12 certificate and matching .mobileprovision profile. The same delivery provides the .p12 password.
To download KSign itself, use the developer's official GitHub releases. CertDrop is not affiliated with the KSign project.
How to use a CertDrop certificate in KSign
- Find the UDID of the iPhone or iPad where you will install apps. You can use CertDrop's free UDID tool.
- Place your $8 order using that device's UDID, then open the private delivery link once the certificate is ready.
- Download both certificate files and keep the supplied .p12 password. Do not try to install the raw .p12 or .mobileprovision through iPhone Settings.
- Install KSign using a supported method and its official app release. Open KSign's certificate management and import the .p12 and .mobileprovision together with the password.
- Use KSign to sign and install a compatible IPA you own, develop, test, or have permission to use.
Once KSign itself is installed, IPA signing can take place on-device. Initial installation of KSign is a separate step and may require a compatible sideloading method.
Does KSign still use .ksign certificate files?
Current KSign releases use standard signing files. The project's release notes state that support for the older .ksign certificate-file format was removed in version 1.5.1. Use the .p12 certificate, .mobileprovision profile, and password instead.
Don't confuse the certificate format with KSign's own IPA app file. The signing files must match each other and the iPhone or iPad UDID.
KSign unable to install or verify an IPA?
- No certificate available: confirm that you imported both files, not only the .p12 certificate.
- Wrong password: use the .p12 password provided with your CertDrop order, not your Apple ID password.
- Unable to verify app or integrity error: verify that the certificate and profile remain valid, your UDID is included, and any required developer trust steps are complete.
- One IPA fails while others work: the IPA may require incompatible entitlements or a newer iOS version. A matching certificate cannot make every IPA installable.
Start with the free Certificate Health Check for the signing files and IPA Compatibility Check for the app package. These tools help identify problems but cannot guarantee installation.
Frequently asked questions
What certificate files does KSign need?
A .p12 signing certificate, its password, and a matching .mobileprovision profile that includes the device UDID.
How much does a KSign certificate cost?
CertDrop costs $8 once for a device-matched signing package with 360-day certificate validity.
Does CertDrop sell the KSign app?
No. CertDrop supplies signing certificate files. KSign is a separate app available from the developer's official GitHub.
Can I use the same certificate in KSign, Feather and ESign?
Yes. You can import the matching .p12 and .mobileprovision files into compatible signing apps on the registered device.
Does KSign still support old .ksign certificate files?
The KSign developers removed that older format in version 1.5.1. Use .p12 and .mobileprovision files with their password.
Will every IPA work if I buy a certificate?
No. Compatibility depends on the IPA, its signing requirements, the device, iOS, and the certificate remaining valid. A certificate alone cannot guarantee every installation.
