iPhone setup tutorial

Install Feather or ESign with your CertDrop certificate.

CertDrop prepares the certificate setup for your device. In normal delivery, you do not need to manually import a .p12 file, mobileprovision file, or certificate password into Feather or ESign.

1 Open delivery page

Use the private CertDrop link from your delivery email.

2 Install signer app

Tap Install Feather or Install ESign from the prepared setup.

3 Enable Developer Mode

This is required before the signer app opens correctly.

4 Start signing

Use the bundled CertDrop setup for your matched device.

Before you start

  • Use the iPhone or iPad that matches the UDID used for your order.
  • Open your CertDrop delivery email or your private install page on that device.
  • Keep Safari available for install prompts and profile/app confirmation steps.

1. Open your CertDrop install page

After delivery, open the install page from your CertDrop email. You will see install options for the prepared setup, including Feather or ESign when available for your order.

2. Tap Install Feather or Install ESign

Choose the signer app you want to use. CertDrop already prepares the certificate setup with the installer, so the normal path is tapping the install button and following iOS prompts.

3. Enable Developer Mode

Developer Mode is required. Before opening Feather or ESign for the first time, go to:

Settings > Privacy & Security > Developer Mode

Turn Developer Mode on, restart when iOS asks, then confirm after the device comes back on. Without Developer Mode, the installed signing app may not open correctly.

4. Open Feather or ESign

Once Developer Mode is enabled, open the signer app. Your CertDrop setup is already prepared for the device used in your order. You should not need to manually enter a certificate password or import certificate files for the standard bundled setup.

5. Install apps you own, develop, test, or have permission to use

Use the signer app with compatible IPA files that you own, develop, test, or have permission to install. If an app fails to install, check the troubleshooting section below before contacting support.

Common Feather fixes

Update SSL certificates

In Feather, open Settings, then Installation, and use the option to update SSL certificates. This can fix local install issues.

Try Fully Local first

In Feather installation settings, use Fully Local as the first option when available.

If needed, try Semi-Local

If Fully Local does not work, try Semi-Local and enable the localhost-only option if Feather provides it.

Reinstall from CertDrop

If the signer app setup becomes confusing, return to your CertDrop install page and reinstall from the prepared link.

When to contact support

If you are still stuck, contact CertDrop support with your order email, iOS version, signer app name, and a screenshot of the exact error message. That makes the fix much faster.

Do not send your certificate password in a public chat. Use the official support channel from CertDrop.
